PROFHILO®
One of the clear markers of ageing skin is a change in skin quality. Skin which was plump and radiant starts to thin with increasing laxity and appear dull. This occurs due to a loss of collagen and elastin. PROFHILO is a bio-remodelling product for the skin rather than a dermal filler. It treats skin laxity by providing hydration, support and stimulating collagen and elastin production. Added hydration results in a dewy glow and because it is injected superficially into the skin it is able to smooth away textural issues giving a healthier appearance. Which areas can be treated with PROFHILO?
PROFHILO can be used to treat many areas including the face, neck, décolletage, hands and elbows. In all areas injected it will tighten and lift skin by remodelling sagging tissues and will also hydrate, improve textural issues and impart a dewy glow.

After examining the skin to check for suitability for treatment, the injection points are identified and marked and PROFHILO is injected superficially into the skin.

Once these sites have been identified and marked PROFHILO is injected superficially into the skin providing instant hydration. Similar points are identified in the neck or other treatment sites.
How many treatments do I need?
2 treatments are recommended, 4 weeks apart from each other. Thereafter maintenance treatments at 6 months is suggested.
Is it painful?
There can be some very mild discomfort however local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable experience.
How long does the treatment take?
30 minutes is allocated for treatment time, it may be more if more than one area is being treated eg. face and neck.
When will I see a result?
After the first treatment, many patients remark how their skin feels instantly hydrated, with a visible glow, however optimal results are visible within 6-8 weeks after the second treatment. This is when improvement in skin texture and tone takes place following collagen stimulation.
What are the side-effects?
The risk of side-effects are low and there is minimal downtime. There may be some slight redness, swelling, bruising, itch or tenderness at the injection sites which usually resolves within a few hours to days.

How is PROFHILO different to dermal fillers?
Although PROFHILO contains hyaluronic acid it is completely different to dermal fillers. It is a bio-remodelling agent. This means it has a dual action; a bio-regenerating action which stimulates your own hyaluronic acid; and a tightening effect, which counteracts skin laxity. While dermal fillers restore lost volume in specific areas, PROFHILO remodels the skin structure, treating skin laxity and restoring firmness.
