Nasal Tip Drooping

Ageing can cause the tip of the nose to droop due to changes in soft tissue compartments and underlying skeletal structure. Often a person notices this when seeing photos of themselves smiling as this is when it can become more apparent. Dermal filler can instantly lift a drooping nasal tip with very little downtime giving a natural and long lasting result.  This is a great option for people who wish to alter the shape of their nose but do not want the downtime, prolonged recovery and general anaesthetic associated with surgery.

How is this achieved?

Filler is placed along the base of the nose and then upwards into the columella (this is the part of the nose which separates the nostrils) which strengthens the area leading to a lift to the nasal tip. A consultation is always required prior to any treatment to ensure suitability. It is also an opportunity for the individual to ask any questions they need to about the procedure.

How long does the treatment take?

An hour is allocated for this procedure however the injecting time is considerably less.  Time is spent in the appointment carefully cleaning and disinfecting the skin, for clinical photographs to be taken and to carefully mark the skin. Numbing cream is also applied. It is very important to never rush a treatment. Keeping safe and minimising the risk of complications is always the priority.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for 15 minutes prior to the procedure which helps.  The filler itself also contains a local anaesthetic which is very effective.  This is an area where ice is also used as the base and tip of the nose can be more sensitive than the nasal bridge.

When will I see results?

Results are instant.  This is unlike surgery where it can often take a year for swelling to settle and for the final result to be visible. Unlike surgery if for whatever reason you did not feel you suited you new nose then filler can also be dissolved if needed.

How long does the treatment last?

Dr Sabba uses Juvéderm Voluma which is an excellent high quality dermal filler which is long-lasting.  Results generally last up to 2 years. Over time the gel is broken down naturally by the body and is re-absorbed.  At this point treatment can be repeated.

What are the side-effects?

There may be some redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising after the treatment, but these side effects should subside within a few days.  There are some extremely rare complications associated with dermal filler injections such as vascular occlusion and this is discussed in detail at the consultation.  Following the procedure patients can usually continue with their day as normal.

Will I need a check-up?

Aftercare is very important to Dr Sabba so a four-week follow-up is arranged for all patients in order to review the final result.  If needed additional dermal filler can be added at a slightly reduced cost.  Most patients will not require more than 1ml of dermal filler however in the few cases that do it is always better to undertake treatment in stages.

What is the cost?

Treatment starts from £595
